One of our favorite neighborhood Halloween traditions is back! The Nations Neighborhood Association is bringing back Drink-or-Treat, our annual bar crawl through the neighborhood, on Halloween afternoon. Grab your costume and hop between local restaurants and bars along the 51st Avenue corridor for a festive afternoon of drinks, treats, and neighborhood fun. Tickets can be purchased here - we hope to see you there!

This month’s neighborhood meeting will look a little different as we bring everyone together for an evening of good food, great conversation, and community connection. We’ll hear updates from Light the Nations, learn more about our featured business spotlight with M.L. Rose, and enjoy the chance to mingle with neighbors while supporting the Nations Neighborhood Association. While the event itself will start at 6:00PM, the monthly meeting will start promptly at 6:30pm.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated directly back to NNA, helping us continue to support neighborhood events, initiatives, and community improvements. Bring your friends, grab a bite, and come celebrate what makes The Nations such a special place to call home!

Join us this month in our school supply drive for PENCIL, a nonprofit based right here in The Nations that provides free school supplies to MNPS teachers year-round. Support the drive by donating new school supplies at our neighborhood collection bins located at Raymond Barber Shop and Good Better Best, or contribute from anywhere by purchasing items directly from PENCIL's Amazon Wishlist. Requested donations include pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, pens, erasers, pencil sharpeners, dry erase markers, and Band-Aids.
Join the Planning & Zoning Committee as we continue shaping our 2026 priorities for The Nations. Neighbors are invited to help identify and refine key goals related to development, growth, infrastructure, and the future of our neighborhood. All neighbors are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Celebrate the Fourth of July with the Nations Moms Group at their annual neighborhood parade, proudly sponsored by the The Nations Neighborhood Association!
Families will gather at Cockrill Elementary School at 9:30 AM, with the parade kicking off promptly at 9:45 AM. From there, we’ll stroll three blocks together to Fat Bottom Brewing Co., where the celebration continues.
Fat Bottom will be ready to welcome parade-goers with food, popsicles for the kids, and fun Fourth of July crafts. Bring your wagons, strollers, and patriotic spirit—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Join us on Monday, 6/22 at 6:30pm for our next Neighborhood Association monthly meeting. We’ll be gathering at Fat Bottom Brewing in The Reserve for a business spotlight from Good Better Best, presentations on local tree initiatives, and an update from the Nations Moms Group about their 3rd annual 4th of July parade.
This month’s NNA meeting will not take place, as it falls on Memorial Day. We hope to see you at the next one in June!
Join us for a Community Clean Up on Saturday, May 2 from 9AM–11AM, meeting at Fat Bottom Brewing. Trash bags and gloves will be provided, and volunteers will receive a free pint after the event courtesy of Fat Bottom.

There will be a Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, April 23rd from 4:00-7:00pm at the Howard Office Building. Please attend this meeting in person to voice your support or opposition to the proposed development plans for 5901 California Ave. More details on the meeting can be found here.
